Description
Location - Buoy A2For sale is a rare Vintage early lobster trap / crab pot fishing wooden buoy - ALL Wood & Solid, not hollow or foam - With associated use, wear & tear, Exactly as pictured.
Awesome colors: Battered Burnt umber/orange/red & Black paint on the body (maybe a hint of old yellow here and there) - Nice patina. Well worked. I never ever try to scrub them up - We just leave them in their natural state. Weathered line / rope / hoop.
IDENTS: 198 in the wood - pictured.
Authentic working wooden buoys have become increasing hard to come by. Especially ones in good condition or truly unique ones. I have stated US as the country of origin, but it could easily be maritime Canada.
This has possibly been repainted at some point (maybe more than once over the years), but it was never touched up or altered in any fashion by us. And I suppose I should say while this appears to be a working buoy, it was never technically "used" by us.
A rare item that has been a part of our maritime decor for a long time - Like almost 35 years.
Add it to your collection, or just add some interesting flair to your room.
MEASUREMENTS: Approximately 6" handle/post & 10" body from base to tip. Essentially standard taper square in overall shape.
Those are great classic colors / Great patina. A lot of character on this one.
It was part of our nautical collection on our huge enclosed back porch. There were 100- 125 at one time. We are down-sizing. It takes time. More than I ever imagined. A lifetime of "stuff". Heated & Air conditioned.
This shall ship out promptly USPS or UPS, whichever is most economical. We will package it well for shipping. If you pick up more than one, I will combine them (whenever practical and safe) and refund you any shipping overage. Have a little faith in me here. I don't screw anyone.
Free local pickup is always welcome from Ohio, 43082.
