Japanese Blown Glass Floating Balls Lot of 11 Mixed Sizes Antique. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
This is a mixed lot of mostly large and large portions 3.5” balls, 4” balls, and a few 5” balls. 11 total. I have a second lot I am selling that is almost entirely small antique balls, 12 of them. Shades of Aquamarine, and there are a few of the balls in that group that have some amazing character, but let’s talk about these!
This is perfect for larger projects with the majority larger size, and handful of medium and quite large balls for visual balance awe. A huge set it you are starting or completing a collection.
As is typical with these balls:
- They are relics Japan during maritime. As such, they may or may not have been ‘used.’ They may have ‘floated,’ or say on a shelf ready to use. Some have the obvious visual character of use (especially in the larger set), while others were either cleaned or waited for use).
- They may or may not have a ‘Makers mark’ on the bottom of the glass, but they are not reproduction (I.e. Made in China colored glass balls of inferior quality)
- They may have bubbles, deep holes, grooves, they all will have unique imperfections and flaws, that is the nature of the glass and ‘floats’ (one of the balls in this set has an amazing deep hole that gives it incredible character.... for example)
- May have chipping on the ‘button seal’ (where the glass is fused closed.... a natural phenomenon.... making it feel ‘rough’....although I don’t notice that in these sets particularly)
