Old set of bagpipes fully mounted with imitation ivory that has aged in color. Imitation ivory parts include: projecting mounts, ferrules, ring caps and bushes. The bushes and ring caps on drone tops are separate pieces mounted to the drone tops… wood ‘ring’ is visible on the drone tops. This set of pipes is sold as sticks and stocks including: drone pipes, drone stocks, blowpipe, blowpipe stock, and chanter stock. Does not include chanter. Possible import manufacture.
A very old/petrified sheepskin bag tied to this set was removed, the pipes were cleaned, and were re-hemped. Includes trouble-free new synthetic blowpipe flapper valve and a new blowpipe mouthpiece.
Disclosure of known defects: The blowpipe stock has insect damage where the sheepskin bag was tied in. The few insect holes in the stock have been plugged and are not visible when bag is tied on…the stock is airtight. No other insect damage noted among the other pieces. The old bakelite mouthpiece has a crack in the base and is included.
The blowpipe is airtight and has chipped finish on the side.
